Transforming aged care facilities with advanced hot water solutions

This project introduces an innovative hot water production solution implemented in about 30 aged care facilities across New Zealand, from Auckland to Christchurch. Aimed at replacing outdated systems and reducing operational carbon emissions, the initiative features a high-temperature R290 heat pump system capable of achieving 65°C storage temperatures without electrical boosting, replacing traditional gas instantaneous units.

Central to the project's success is Pureflow, our in-house engineering tool that streamlines the specification and performance modelling of renewable domestic hot water systems. Pureflow significantly reduces engineering hours, automates equipment scheduling, and comprehensively compares cost and efficiency.

This initiative enhances hot water production efficiency and strengthens relationships with consulting engineers. It offers a sustainable solution that meets critical operational needs while reducing environmental impact in the aged care sector.

Will I need to spend a lot insulating my home to get a heat pump?

Looking to cut energy costs and enhance your home's comfort? Proper insulation and heat pumps are key.

Why Insulate?
Insulation reduces heat loss, lowers bills, and shrinks your carbon footprint. Loft insulation alone can save up to £590 a year.

Heat Pumps: Efficient Heating
Heat pumps, working at up to 400% efficiency, transfer heat from the air, ground, or water into your home. They work best in well-insulated homes, offering significant savings over traditional systems.

Why This Matters for New Zealand
New Zealand faces unique challenges with its aging housing stock and diverse climate. Improving insulation and adopting heat pumps can help reduce energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and provide more comfortable living conditions. These upgrades support New Zealand’s commitment to sustainability and its goals for a greener future.

Get Started

  • Energy Audit: Identify your insulation needs.
  • Insulate Key Areas: Focus on loft and walls for maximum savings.
    Professional Installation: Ensures optimal performance.
